As you can see from this blog’s Beijing linkage, I’m a big fan of the Collected Works of David Feng. David is a one man juggernaut who loves all things Beijing, Macs, China, and technology, and his output is amazingly prolific.
A few days ago, he released a PDF sampler from his upcoming 2008 2008, an e-book chronicling the more obscure corners of Beijing.
Particular highlights include an example of a simplified version of the word 停 (stop) languishing forgotten (page 12), the Hundred Names Register at Huixinxijie Beikou subway stop (page 13), old propoganda slogans exhorting workers to unite in western Beijing (page 22). Wonderful stuff.
I can’t wait to see the whole thing! 加油, David!
